At one point back in the 90s I regularly attended a Weight Watcher\u2019s meeting here in Maine.\u00a0 There was an elderly woman I sat next to who reminded me of my grandmother.\u00a0 She needed<\/em> the group (as did I), had very kind facial features, dressed well, and wore a soft smile.\u00a0 I looked forward to seeing her there.\u00a0 One day, I was talking to her about a piece of art and whether I should hold onto it even though I was kind of tired of it.\u00a0 She immediately became passionate about the topic: \u201coh honey, if you’re bored of a painting, just take it down!\u201d\u00a0 It seemed like simple advice but delivered in a way that helped me understand a lesson about moving on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year I created a new, more colorful, sharp-looking, logo.\u00a0 I may not have all the sizing quite right yet (the sticker I ordered seems ridiculously small on the car now) but I had grown tired of the simple black and white logo created seven years ago when I started out.\u00a0 The great thing about having a solo business is you need not wait on a board of directors to approve changes like a new logo. \u00a0While it is wise to get feedback from your friends, clients, and colleagues, the decision is entirely yours.\u00a0 There are many ways to go about rebranding a business, and many aspects to think about, including (but not limited to) color, message, style, memorable design, cost, focus, palette, portability, and whether it might infringe on a confusingly similar design.\u00a0 I recently helped a business create a logo that never had one before.\u00a0 The owners seemed genuinely touched that I would be creating a brand that their clients would know them by, using the colors they had chosen to represent their business for many years.\u00a0 They did not know how to compose them into a professional-looking logo that fit the business as well as the colors.\u00a0 We had very few revisions, and the final release of the logo was a big hit.\u00a0 Are you tired of the same look for your business?\u00a0 Do you think that rebranding is something you would like to tackle sooner than later?\u00a0 Feel free to contact me to discuss your options.\u00a0 Branding is more than just a logo; it presents your company in a positive and professional light that creates trust and attracts new customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
